VENUE SPOTLIGHT
THE TITHE BARN, BEDFORD
My Wedding Venue!
It is impossible to believe that I got married here nearly 8 years ago! When we looked around, we were swept away with the stunning medieval barn, the river flowing beside it, the super friendly staff and how they went above and beyond to create a bespoke day for us.
Can I do the day again please? It was just so perfect!
Anyway, enough about me – let’s talk about the venue!
The Venue
A dreamy rustic barn that can be decorated in a wide range of ways.
- Rustic vibes
- Seats 90 guests (120 evening guests)
- Private bar area
- Ideal in all seasons
The gardens outside the barn are super pretty in the Spring, with blossom trees dotted around, and the flower beds are full in the Summer months, making them great for photo opportunities. The grass area at the front of the barn is ideal for games and entertainment during your drinks reception.
The marquee at the side of the barn is also equipped with a separate bar area and indoor/outdoor seating.
The outdoor seating area is great for those summer days, but if you get a chilly or wet day, then your guests can mingle happily inside the marquee.
The Hotel
- 48 guest rooms
- 3 suites
- Riverside restaurant
One of the greatest things about this venue is the fact that so many of your guests can stay on site at The Kingfisher. This is so handy if people are travelling a distance to your wedding and is just so convenient! No rush for late night taxis and very easy for guests to grab some more comfortable foot wear for a night of dancing.
The food here is brilliant. What better way to spend the morning after your wedding than having breakfast with your guests! The meat and fruit is sourced locally too, which is a real plus point to this venue.
If you are getting ready at the venue on the morning of your wedding, then booking the bridal suite is a must. With king size bed, plenty of seating and roll top bath, it really is quite special! It has a separate bathroom too.
I adored getting ready in the suite with my bridesmaids all around me. There is quite a bit of space, so it doesn’t feel over crowded.
The Kingfisher is the perfect place to get ready for your big day.
Best Photo Spots
-
The jetty
-
The courtyard outside of the restaurant
-
In front of the barn
-
The driveway
The front of the barn is wonderful for your group photos, as there is a lot of space., and the brickwork makes a beautiful backdrop.
I also really enjoy capturing my couples portraits here too, especially under the tree by the main doors to the barn. (It’s just so pretty!)
The driveway is of course great for some walking and talking shots.
If you want to venture a little further for more photo opportunities, you can pop 5 minutes down the road and get to the Embankment, where you can make the most of the band stand and bridges along the river. We did this on my wedding day, and got some great photos!
